BUT Challenge: there is time until October 1st!
21 September 2020
BUT Formazza will be held in memory of Silvio Gria
19 May 2021Here we are: on May 1st, registrations will finally open for the 2021 edition of BUT Formazza, the Trail scheduled for July 10th in the majestic alpine scenery of Alta Val Formazza, in northern Piedmont.
Three paths for everyone
There will be three routes: Bettelmatt Trail, Bettelmatt Skyrace and Bettelmatt Race.
Bettelmatt Trail (BT) will return to the classic route and will therefore take place over a distance of 57 km for over 3,000 m D+-; Bettelmatt Sky Race (BSR) will instead see the athletes compete on the 37 km course for almost 2,500 m D+- already tested in 2019; Bettelmatt Race (BR) will also take place on the classic course, which includes 24 km for 950 m D+-.
Thanks to this great variety, on 10th July it will truly be possible for everyone, each according to their own training, to better experience the famous High Altitude Emotions characterizing this race, which sees the athletes of the two longest distances reach 3000 m of Refuge 3A; the BT and BSR athletes will then descend to the hamlet of Canza, to go up the path next to the Toce waterfall, one of the most characteristic places in this area, and return to the classic place of departure and arrival, the village of Riale, over 1,700 m altitude.
The 24 km Bettelmatt Race route follows the first part of the Bettelmatt Trail, passing by Lake Toggia, Passo San Giacomo and Alpe Bettelmatt before returning to Riale.
Salomon Golden Trail National Series
Also in 2021 the event organized by Formazza Event will be part of the Salomon Golden Trail National Series circuit, the circuit that brings together some of the most beautiful and spectacular trails in Italy.
BUT it’s FISKY race
This year BUT Formazza will run under the aegis of F.I.Sky, or the Italian Sky Running Federation.
