A territory to be fully experienced
The area in which BUT takes place, the Val Formazza territory, offers incomparable mountain panoramas, full of paths of varying difficulty, from 1,000 m up to the lakes and majestic peaks of the Alta Val Formazza; there is also an offer of thermal and mineral waters of the highest level, thanks to the Terme di Premia, in the nearby Antigorio Valley.

A record waterfall
The pride of Val Formazza is the majestic Toce Waterfall, with its 143 m drop, the highest in Europe. The area of the Antigorio and Formazza valleys, with its passes that have represented very important commercial routes for hundreds of years, is historically a fundamental access route to Europe and is rich in history and culture; tells the adventure of a people, the Walser, who knew how to conquer the Alps, and the daily struggle of women and men to live in a mountain area that offers, among other things, food and wine products of the highest quality, starting from cheese Bettelmatt, by now universally appreciated, which is in fact produced only in this area; it is precisely this characteristic that makes it so particular and sought after.
All the sport you want
Sport is the great protagonist in these territories: in summer you can practice cycling, mtb and downhill, trail and trekking, Nordic walking and canyoning, while winter is all about snow: skiing in its various variants, Alpine and Nordic – cross-country skiing in Italy was born here, ski mountaineering and snowshoeing.
