BUT Formazza will be held in memory of Silvio Gria

He was one of the most loved and appreciated personalities in the local Trail Running world: Silvio Gria, also well known as a Rally navigator, passed away a few weeks ago.

The initiatives immediately multiplied, both in Trail Running competitions and in the world of Rally, to remember Silvio and also Formazza Event, which organizes MA Formazza, scheduled for next 10 July, will not be outdone.

In collaboration with the Alpine Rescue, the Formazza Event Amateur Sports Association has in fact decided to make a donation to the Formazza Alpine Rescue Station for the purchase of material for mountain rescue, in memory of Silvio Gria.

“It will be our way – explains Gianluca Barp, president of Formazza Event – to remember a person who was always present at our races and who has always interpreted trail running in the way we like best, in the name of love for the mountains and the pleasure of sharing this love with others”.

Entries close on June 6th

Meanwhile, the numbers of participants in the event scheduled for July 10 are increasing: nine nations are already represented at the moment. Registrations, which can be made exclusively online, will close on June 6th.

There will be three routes: Bettelmatt Trail, Bettelmatt Skyrace and Bettelmatt Race.

Bettelmatt Trail (BT) will return to the classic route and will therefore take place over a distance of 57 km for over 3,000 m D+-; Bettelmatt Sky Race (BSR) will instead see the athletes compete on the 37 km course for almost 2,500 m D+- already tested in 2019; Bettelmatt Race (BR) will also take place on the classic course, which includes 24 km for 950 m D+-.

Thanks to this great variety of tracks, on 10 July it will truly be possible for everyone, each according to their training, to better experience the famous High Altitude Emotions – in the two longest routes, you can reach almost 3,000 m – which characterize this race.
