BUT Formazza, watch out for deadlines!

BUT presented itself at Terme di Premia
6 July 2018Scrolling through the BUT Formazza entry list, we noticed an athlete even from distant Finland, Tuuli Wiio: curious, we tried to contact her to get to know her better and find out how she chose BUT Formazza!
Tuuli, tell us something about yourself
I’m originally from Tampere, but now I live in Helsinki with my husband and two children; I’m a mathematician and I work in the Finance sector, but above all I love sports, especially in the mountains and in the arctic nature. I started snowboarding as a child, after all every Finn learns to ski as a child (alpine or cross-country skiing)!
My favorite sport is running, I would do it almost anywhere and everywhere!
How did you hear about BUT?
I was googling trails and mountain runs and came across BUT; the site well written in English convinced me! I understood that it was the right race for me, for me it will be the first Italian trail!
Every aspect of BUT seems to suit me, I want to experience the longer distances and high altitudes but I want to do it one step at a time, this year I will be running the BR 22km, next year I hope the BSR 35km.
How long will you stay in Italy?
I’m traveling with my husband and we’ll be touring Piedmont for a week: the original plan was to run together, as we’ve already done, but unfortunately he’s currently suffering from back pain in the lumbar area and can’t run. I hope he can do it next year. In this week, however, you will be able to enjoy Italian food and wine!
Good luck Tuuli, we hope you can fully enjoy the Emotions at High Altitude!
