9 July 2018BUT Formazza, a great event full of news
Here we are: the edition of BUT Formazza is just a few days away, the event organized by Formazza Event which, after the success of the last two years, presents many innovations to make the appointment even more fascinating, which attracts around a thousand every year of trail runners and which once again proves to be a very valid tool for promoting the area in which it takes place.
The first novelty of BUT Formazza is the date: for the first time in fact the event will take place entirely on Saturday, July 14th; the second novelty is given by the route of the longest race: it will no longer be 83 km, but the Bettelmatt Trail, 52 km which promises to be highly spectacular, accomplice, and also in this case we are talking about an absolute “first time”, the passage to the Toce waterfall, which has always been the pride of the valley with its 143 m drop.
The races that made this event great are very confirmed: the 35 km Bettlmatt Sky Race, the 22 km Bettelmatt Race and the 8 km Bettelmatt Mini Trail La Stampa.
All the races will start and finish in the magnificent Riale Formazza basin, at over 1,700 m above sea level, in a truly spectacular environmental context.
The atmosphere this year will be even more festive thanks to the music, from late Saturday afternoon, by the Terrible band.
The athletes seem to have appreciated these innovations: in fact, 217 trail runners are registered in BT 52, with a marked increase compared to 2017; in this case the data are almost definitive, since the registrations closed on 1st July. BSR 35km and BR 22km are also doing very well, with an increase in entries compared to last year’s performance over the same period.
Entries for the BSR 35 km will close on 8 July, while for BR 22 you can also register on the day of the race, as indeed for the 8 km Bettelmatt Mini Trail La Stampa.
As per tradition, BUT Formazza is part of the VCO Top Race Circuit.
