BUT Formazza: changes in the BUT and BSR routes due to snow, two more days to register!
8 July 2024
Fantastic Day!
13 July 2024
We’re almost there: tomorrow, Saturday 13 July, the 2024 edition of BUT Formazza will start, in the majestic alpine scenery of Alta Val Formazza, in northern Piedmont, made even more fascinating by the lots of snow present
Running up to Rifugio 3A
The snow forced the Formazza Event organizers to make changes to the Bettelmatt Ultra Trail and Bettelmatt Super Race routes, the two longest races, for safety reasons.
However, you will reach the highest point of the route, the legendary Rifugio 3A, at almost 3,000 m above sea level: Bettelmatt Ultra Trail will have a route of approximately 53 km for approximately 3,165 m D+, while Bettelmatt Super Race will have a route of approximately 40 km for 2,487 m D+.
However, the Bettelmatt Race route will remain unchanged, 22 km for 1,320 m D
We remind you that for BUT, BSE and BR, CRAMPONS are MANDATORY.
However, for the less trained there is still a possibility: Bettelmatt Mini Trail, 6 km for approximately 200 m D+, the only race for which registrations can be made on Saturday 13th.
Quota 800 is not far away
However, there are already many total members, 765, divided between 113 of BUT, 178 of BSR, 454 of BR and 20, but certainly destined to grow, of BMT.
There will be 13 nations represented, as well as the Italian regions at the start of the Formazzina test.
Among the most interesting athletes we point out Chiara Boggio, Laura Trentani, Luca Sogni and Fabio Rolando in the long race, Yulia Baykova, Monica Moia, Paolo Dellavesa and Stefano Piana in the BSR, Veronica Riccio, Martina Rigoli, Mauro Bernardini, Roberto Giacomotti (winner of the BSR 2023) in the BR.
The times
BUT will leave at 6.00 am; at 8.00 it will be the turn of the BSR athletes, while the Bettelmatt Race will start at 9.30. At 10.30 the grand finale of the departures with the BMT.
