Ten Italian regions are also represented: Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Piedmont, Puglia, Sardinia, Tuscany, Umbria, and Veneto.
Courses: return to the classic route
Due to lower snow levels compared to 2024, the “classic” route will return for the two longer distances, including the passage by Rifugio Claudio e Bruno before climbing to the highest point of the course, the nearly 3,000 meters of Rifugio 3A; the descent will be via the Siedel Glacier. All races will start from Valdo – Formazza, at 1,200 meters above sea level.
The race routes will be as follows:
• Bettelmatt Ultra Trail: 57 km and 3,150 m of elevation gain/loss, passing spectacular spots such as Rifugio 3A (nearly 3,000 m), and lakes Vannino, Morasco, Sabbione, Toggia, and Castel. BUT awards 3 ITRA points (International Trail Running Association) and is a UTMB Index 50K qualifying race.
• Bettelmatt Super Race: 40 km with 2,520 m of elevation gain/loss, covering the first part of the longer route up to Rifugio 3A. BSR awards 2 ITRA points and is also a UTMB Index 50K qualifying race.
• Bettelmatt Race: 22 km with 1,320 m of elevation gain/loss, crossing Nefelgiù Pass and the Toce Waterfall. BR is a UTMB Index 20K qualifying race.
• Bettelmatt Mini Trail: 6 km with around 200 m of elevation gain, designed for children and less experienced runners.
No matter which distance you choose, you’ll experience the unique thrill of the “High Altitude Emotions” that only BUT can deliver!
