REGULATION

ART. 1 GENERAL INFORMATION

The Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Formazza Event (Formazza Event Amateur Sports Association), BETTELMATT TRAIL 56 km (BT) BETTELMATT SKY RACE 37 km (BSR), BETTELMATT RACE 24 km (BR) on Saturday 10 July 2021.

Each race takes place at free speed, in limited time and in autonomy.

ART. 2 PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

Previous participation in similar events is not required, but you need to:

  1. each participating athlete must be in possession of an F.I.Sky card (annual or daily).
  2. be aware of the length and specificity of the race and have suitable athletic preparation.
  3. have acquired, before the race, a real capacity of personal autonomy in the mountains in order to better manage the problems associated with this type of test, in particular:
    a. be able to face alone, without help, climatic conditions which can become difficult due to the altitude (night, wind, cold, fog, rain or snow)
    b. be able to manage, even if isolated, physical or psychological problems due to a great fatigue, gastrointestinal problems, muscle or joint pain, small wounds …
    c. be aware that the Organization’s role is not to help a runner handle these problems
  4. For mountain running, the security depends on the ability of the rider to adapt to the problems encountered or anticipated.
    Participation in one of the events involves the unconditional acceptance of this Regulation.

ART. 4 SELF SUFFICIENCY

The partly self-sufficiency is understood as the ability to be autonomous between two aid points, with respect to security, food and equipment, allowing the athlete to adapt to the problems encountered or anticipated such as bad weather, physical pain, injuries etc.
This principle implies the following rules:

  1. Each runner must carry with him for the duration of the run all the equipment required.
    This must be presented at the race number collection and at all times the race officials can check to ensure that competitors have with them all the equipment required. The competitor has the obligation to submit to these checks, or will be disqualified.
  2. Aid stations are supplied with drinks and food to consume on the spot. The organization provides only plain water for filling water bottles or camel bags. When leaving each aid station, runners must have the amount of water and food needed to get to the next aid point (to reduce the environmental impact glasses will not be provided).
  3. Personal Trainers, mentors or coaches will not be allowed on the course unless they are entered in the event and wearing an official Race Number

ART. 5 REGISTRATION

The event is affiliated with the F.I.Sky (Italian Skyrunning Federation), each athlete MUST have the F.I.Sky card (annual or daily).
BT (56 km) – BSR (37 km) – BR (24 km)
: entry is open to athletes aged 18 and over who are in possession of a valid medical certificate specifically for competitive sports in mountain environment, which does not expire before 11/07/2021. For the 24 km race 16 years old athletes are accepted prior written permission of parents.

Registration takes place via internet through online service WEDOSPORT filling out the form in its entirety

Payment must be made through the online service by credit card, Paypal or bank transfer. The registration fee will be increased by commission fees.

The registration to the BT 56 km can be made until June, 13 online (before 23:30).
Maximum number of participants: 150 athletes.

The registration to the BSR 37 km can be made until June, 13  online (before 23:30).
Maximum number of participants: 250 athletes.

The registration to the BR 24 km can be made until June, 13 online (before 23:30).
Maximum number of participants: 400 athletes.

Once the maximum number of participants allowed for each trail has been reached, registrations will close automatically.
Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and entries are NON-TRANSFERABLE.

Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not give or sell your number to anyone else. You may not transfer your application to another competition or another competitor.

ART. 5 RACE NUMBER AND RACE PACKET DISTRIBUTION

Race number and race packet will be handed out individually to each runner on the presentation of a photo ID.

You are required to wear an official race number on the front of your singlet/shirt and keep it visible in its entirety throughout the race. It must therefore be positioned above any clothing and can in no case be fixed onto the backpack or  legs (this is to facilitate checks on the trail without being stopped).

The sponsors must neither be modified, nor hidden.

You can pick up your bib number and race packet at the following times:

  • BT 56 km
    Friday 09 July from 17.00 to 20.00
    Saturday 10 July from 04.30 AM to 05.30 AM at the Race Office in Hamlet Riale
  • BSR 37 km
    Friday 09 July from 17.00 to 20.00
    Saturday 10 July from 06.30 AM to 07.30 AM at the Race Office in Hamlet Riale
  • BR 24 km
    Friday 09 July from 17.00 to 20.00

ART. 7 EQUIPMENT

Participation in the competition implies the commitment to keep the obligatory equipment with them at all times throughout the race.
The material listed below is a strict minimum, but must be integrated according to the individual needs.
During the opening hours of the race office it will be possible to submit the backpack with the obligatory equipment for inspection.
All mandatory equipment will be checked when athletes pick up their race numbers. The race number will not be given to those who fail to show all the required material. Furthermore, spot checks will be carried out during the race and athletes will be disqualified if found without the required equipment.

ART. 8 COURSE

The course runs primarily on dirt paths and gravel roads.
Competitors must comply strictly with the race route, marked with signs, tape, flags that will be shown during the briefing. Athletes should strictly adhere to the marked race route and avoid taking shortcuts or cutting out sections of the route. Any departures from the official route, apart from entailing disqualification, shall be at the sole risk of athletes.

ART. 9 ENVIRONMENT

The race shall take place in a protected natural environment. Participants are therefore required to fully respect the Alpine environment, in particular by not throwing away rubbish, picking flowers or disturbing the wildlife.
Anyone found littering along the way shall be disqualified from the race and incur the sanctions foreseen by the municipal regulations.

ART. 10 WEATHER

The race will take place in all weather conditions. In case of adverse weather conditions (dense fog, snow, thunder storms etc.), the organisers reserve the right to postpone the departure time, make last-minute changes, even during the race, to the race route in order to eliminate potential hazards or conditions that could cause distress for the participants.

The staff shall inform the participants of any changes.

The organisers also reserve the right to suspend or cancel the race if the weather conditions are such that they put athletes, staff or medical teams at risk.

ART. 11 SAFETY, HEALTHCARE AND CONTROLS

Representatives of the organization will be present along the route and aid points connected by radio or telephone with the race direction will be set up along the way.
In Riale and along the route there will be ambulances, healthworkers, security and means of rescue.

All athletes injured or in trouble, can call for help:

  1. showing up at a rescue station or aid point
  2. calling emergency numbers imprinted on the bib (except points without coverage of the telephone network)
  3. asking another runner to alert the rescue
  4. Each runner must provide assistance to all those in need and inform the rescue.

Do not forget that the environmental conditions and the race can make you wait for assistance for longer than expected. Your safety will then depend on the material that you put in your backpack.
All competitors must stay on marked trails.
The competitor who moves away voluntarily from marked trails, no longer under the responsibility of the Organization.

ART. 12 CONTROL POINTS AND REFRESHMENT POINTS

Checkpoints will be set up along the route, where members of the organization will monitor the passage of athletes and perform random checks to verify that the athletes are in possession of the required race material. Refusal to undergo the check will result in an immediate disqualification.
The passage of the athletes will also be verified at the refreshment points.
The races are in self-sufficiency

However refreshment points with liquid and solid goods, in sealed single portions (bars), will be set up on the tracks.

ART 13. TIME LIMIT

The maximum time to finish the race is set at:

Athletes that do not reach these points within the established time limits will not be allowed to continue the race.
In order to protect the health of the participants, health workers at the check points have the authority to stop runners who are judged unfit to continue the race. In this case, the participant must follow the indications of the medical staff. Anyone failing to do so will be immediately disqualified.
Participants who reach the check points after the maximum time, those who are injured and those who are judged by the medical staff to be unfit to continue the race, and any other athletes who decide to drop out, shall be taken to the finish line. For logistical reasons, athletes who have dropped out may have to wait before being accompanied to the finish area.

ART. 14 MODIFICATIONS TO THE COURSE OR TIME BARRIERS – CANCELLATION OF THE RACE

The organization reserves the right to modify at any time and without notice the path or location of the aid and refreshment points.
In case of bad weather (heavy rain, strong risk of storms, poor visibility) the start may be delayed or canceled.

In case of government regulations due to the COVID 19 pandemic that impose restrictions on the maximum number of participants in the trails, the order of registration will be considered discriminating.

ART. 15 RETREATS

Except in cases of force majeure, participants who drops out of the race must interrupt the race at one of the checkpoints: Alpe Bettelmatt – Lago Morasco – Frazione Canza, and immediately inform the race organisers, who invalidates the bib.
The athlete should keep his bib.
The return is determined by the responsible of the checkpoint with the following rules:

  • runners who drop out at another aid or refreshment point, but whose state of health does not necessitate being evacuated must get back as quickly as possible, the nearest checkpoint.
  • if, as he is coming back, the runner meets “service scopa”, this invalidates the bib. At this point, the rider is no more under the responsibility of the Organization.
  • in case of failure to notify a withdrawal and the subsequent initiation of research, the athlete will be charged for the costs arising from the research.

ART. 16 PRIZES

BT (56 km) will be awarded first 10 men and first 10 women
BSR (37 km) will be awarded first 10 men and first 10 women
BR (24 km) will be awarded first 10 men and first 10 women

ART. 17 PRIZE CEREMONY

Price ceremony for all the distances will be held on Saturday 10 at 17.30 in Riale Formazza (VB)

ART. 18 COMPLAINTS

Any complaints may be submitted to the Organization of the race by 17.30 Saturday 10/07 with a deposit of € 50 (non-returnable if the protest is not accepted). In keeping with the spirit trail, however it is hoped a full fairness by athletes.

ART 19. RACE ROUTES

To be visible at night, the signs in the first and last section of the path will be equipped with reflective material that reflects the light of the headlamp.
In order to protect the Environment signals will be done with removable tape, arrows and ecological paint that disappears within a few days.
It is mandatory to use only the marked trails, no short cuts to avoid erosion of the sites.

WARNING: If you no longer see the signal for 300 meters, go back!

ART. 20 WAIVER OF RESPONSIBILITY

The voluntary enrollment and the subsequent participation in the race implies the full acceptance of these rules and any eventual changes or modifications. By registering, the participant exempts the organizers from any liability, civil or criminal, for damages to persons and / or property caused by him.
It is the responsibility of the competitor to familiarise themselves with the event rules and any directions as may be published in the organisation’s website and check for any change made to the Regulation in the days before the competition.

ART. 21 IMAGE RIGHTS

By registering, participants authorize the organization to freely use any images depicting athletes during their participation in the event, whether still or in movement, with no territorial or time limits.

ART. 22 PRIVACY

Information on the processing of personal data

By registering, the athlete accepts the processing of data according to the following. According to the art. 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 and art. 13 of the European Regulation on Data Processing, we inform you that the data collected will be subjected to appropriate processing to guarantee security and confidentiality.

Your personal information or that of another subject, provided by you, will be processed for the following purposes: 1. Participation and event management, including all activities related to safety obligations.2. Transmission of your personal contact data (eg name, surname, email) to the sponsors or promoters of the event. The consent to the purpose number 1 is obligatory and without it it is not possible to allow participation in the event, the consent number 2 is optional. The Data Controller is the organizer of the event. The updated list of internal and external managers is available from the Data Controller.

The data will be kept by the promoter for 1 month.
